If you are looking for a peaceful place to get alone with your beloved... If you are looking for lovely gardens to relax and breathe in... If you are looking for gourmet food to tease your palate... Look no further... Book your stay at Arrowhead Inn Bed & Breakfast Durham, North Carolina...A Select Registry Inn... You will not be disappointed! At Arrowhead Inn, I had the pleasure of having a budding young author as one of my guests! Her name is Charity. She came to "escape" and focus on writing her book. AI is a great place for this as every room is fitted with a writing desk and the gardens provide a place of inspiration.
Please take a moment to check out her blog and her post "My perfect day" about her stay with us. Link: http://relentlesslypursued.blogspot.com/2011/06/my-perfect-day.html I must confess to looking up "dystopian novel" in the on-line dictionary. It was not a genre I was familiar with but then I haven't read any young adult fiction lately so that would probably be why. (Okay. So that and I am getting OLD!) I will keep you posted when Uncleanhits the shelves of a store near you! I recently had the opportunity to visit The Manor House Bed & Breakfast at Tanglewood Park. I enjoyed walking through the meticulously landscaped gardens in the cool of the day. Especially a delight was all of the unobtrusive labels! Each plant and tree had its own label letting you know exactly what you were looking at. For someone like me who does not know her flowers, that was very helpful. Thank you, Tanglewood! My sister says my home page winter photo from St Croix River Inn needs to be changed for the season to something that looks more like Spring. Since I have not had the opportunity to take a photo of myself outside a B&B in the Spring, I am adding a recent Tea Room Photo to the home page. Thanks, Sis!
I hope this Memorial Day finds you taking some time to honor those who pay the cost of military service for our country. On the road in Montezuma, GA, I attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Macon County Historical Museum located in the old Depot downtown. This Momument recognizes their service men and women who paid the ultimate price in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The town has plans to add a new memorial for the more current wars. Watching the young Scout play "Taps" over the shoulder of the Veteran was very moving. Talking with locals as I toured the Museum afterwards was very enlightening. Thank you, Veterans and Active Service Men and Women!! I just received my first kudos as an Interim on Facebook. (No. I still don't have my own account.) Check out the comments from Guests, Patrick Callaway and Heidi Cousino, of The Wright Inn & Carriage House by clicking on the link above. The Wright Inn & Carriage House is located in the Montford District of Asheville, NC. It is just a mile from Downtown Asheville and three miles from the Biltmore. The Inn has 9 Guest Rooms and 1 Suite. The Carriage House has three bedrooms and can be rented as a Vacation Rental. Have you ever found yourself driving along through your everyday life...nothing is out of the ordinary... then out of nowhere comes a sign...that makes you jerk your head and go "HUH? Did I just read that right?" Well, take a look at the photo and you will see why Rachel and I did a double take...or was it a triple????? Yep, you read that correctly..."BBQ and Tea Room"! Well, being my Father's Daughter...I walked in the front door, looked around for an employee and said, "I just came in to see what a bar-b-que tea room looked like." "Moments-in-thyme Tea Room" is a "country" tea room with an international flavor located in a separate room inside of the Bar-b-que restaurant. They serve a variety of tea time treats with a more hearty lunch option. The soups change daily and you had best call ahead if you want to be sure the chicken salad is on the menu. Reservations are not required but come highly recommended. 706-820-3111 No, fellas! You may not eat your bar-b-que sandwich on the lace covered tables in the Tea Room! You may eat your bar-b-que sandwich on the red-checkered covered tables in the bar-b-que restaurant area. Thank you! So, if you are looking for something new and different to try out... Come on down to Flintstone, GA and try out the "Bar-b-Que or the Tea Room!" Two distinctly different flavors but all under one roof! Be sure to tell them Rebecca sent you...to the "Bar-b-que Tea Room!" Attention Pet Friendly Travelers. Check out these precious poodles at Traveler's Rest Bed and Breakfast, Montezuma, GA! Taylor and Janie will be delighted to greet you with a woof and a lick South African style with a Southern twist! Congratulations to Selena Einwechter, Innkeeper of Bed and Breakfast on Tiffany Hill! They were named in Every Day with Rachael Ray. Check out the article on-line here "Get a Room: 10 of the Country's Most Romantic Hotel's"
