I managed to stay ahead of the ice storm that hit the south making it to Charleston Sunday evening. I attended the PAII (Professional Association of Innkeepers International)Conference in Charleston, SC Jan 10-13. I attend as a Vendor member with Interim Innkeepers Network. We host a booth in the Tradeshow. The event is a mostly networking and marketing. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces on the Tradeshow floor each year.

Check out my First on-line review with Trip Advisor! (10-21-10 "Beautiful Bed and Breakfast wondeful stay" "We stayed one night in the master suite. We had such a wonderful time. The normal innkeeper was out so they had someone else there. She was so sweet and made our stay perfect. She took the time to answer questions we had about the history of the house and chat with us after breakfast. The room was perfect and had everything we could of imagined, needed, or wanted right at our fingertips. Also the breakfast was so yummy!!! We actually live in Atlanta not far from the bed and breakfast but we felt like we were on vacation far away from home because of how nice the place was. We can't wait to book another stay.") This couple was so sweet! They were enjoying a night away from the new baby who was left with doting grandparents.
The owner's response was cool too! Thank you, Barb! "Oct 23, 2010 Thanks for your lovely compliments, especially the ones about our InnSitter, Rebecca! It is so important to us at Stonehurst Place that, when our regular innkeepers take time to rest and rejuvenate, we have InnSitters who are just as welcoming and as knowledgeable about Stonehurst and Atlanta. I'm really happy you're our neighbor and that your Stonehurst Place getaway was relaxing ... hope to welcome you back soon! Barb ♥ " I am so excited! I have received reviews in the Inn Guest Books and little notes left in the rooms but now...I received my first on-line review at BedandBreakfast.com from my inn-keeping in Atlanta. "Stayed On: 9/28/2010 "I chose Stonehurst Place as the perfect place to propose to my girlfriend (based on the picture that I've seen of the place). I was not disappointed! My soon-to-be fiancee was immediately greeted by Rebecca (who was the innkeeper on duty at the time) and given a tour of the house and offered cake and/or a beverage. We were led to our room (The Gables) and IMMEDIATELY sunk into the bed (easily one of the most comfortable that I've been on). The room was spacious and beautiful, the decorations were fantastic... it was the perfect place for me to pop the question. After an eventful night, my newly-minted fiancee and I got up for breakfast and the food was great (a quiche, parfait, biscuit, coffee, juice, and sausage). I was served exactly the right amount of food. I loved Stonehurst and can't wait to come back some day!"
Christmas Time is here and I would love to be posting a Christmas Poem for you but, alas, I do not have one. So, I thought I would post a little humor instead. You can read "Ants in the Kitchen" by clicking on the title. It is a humorous poem about a not so humorous moment of waking up to find ants had invaded the kitchen counter and the clean dishes I had taken the time to set out the night before. It was also the morning I had guests wanting an early breakfast! What were they thinking?! (the ants not the guests) :) Enjoy!
If you have been looking for luxury in the heart of Atlanta, GA, look no further. You have found it here at Stonehurst Place. Located in the area known as Midtown, Stonehurst Place gives you the benefit of being in the middle of Atlanta mixed with a sense of being "away from it all." This Bed and Breakfast Inn boasts two rooms and three suites well-appointed with a unique blend of old, new and modern that is quite amazing. Built in 1896, the house underwent major renovations in 2008 with painstaking care given to being as "Green" about the renovations as possible. The Inn boasts a unique grey water system for landscape irrigation that does not exist in this area for a property of its type. So, come on down and sink into a luxurious bed hand picked with your comfort in mind! (Photo taken in the evening on a rainy day. After a long, hot summer, we were just happy to have the rain!) I love finding new Tea Rooms. In the Chattanooga area, we have variety in ours...a Southern Tea Room, a British Tea Room, a Country Tea Room and more. Inviting a friend to tea is a delight whether to your home or out to a Tea Room. I have even been invited to have tea over the phone with a friend from far away. Where ever you take time for tea, enjoy the new Poem posted on the Poetry page. It is an invitation to Tea and is available for purchase on handmade note cards or as a framed print.
For those of you who love Asheville, NC but are looking for something just a little more relaxing outside of town... Something with Elegance and Style... A Bed and Breakfast Designed with Your Comfort in mind... Allow me to introduce you to a Beautiful New Southern Gem in Mills River, NC. Bed and Breakfast on Tiffany Hill Owner-Innkeeper Selena Einwechter has been planning your perfect get-a-way for 25 years. Down to the last detail, she has designed Bed and Breakfast on Tiffany Hill with the 21st Century Traveler in mind. You will find all the amenities of a five-star Hotel coupled with the charm of "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Come on over and drink in the peaceful scenery from the wide front porch, sip tea swinging in a back yard hammock or just stroll the paths winding through the six woodsy acres. You will be glad you came. ~ Rebecca (photo taken at my visit there July 2010) Greetings from Traveler's Rest Bed and Breakfast located in the heartland of the South in friendly Montezuma, GA. The area is best known for The Jimmy Carter Historic Site and Andersonville Historic Prison. Traveler's Rest is pet friendly with three guest rooms in the main house and one in the garden cottage. While you are here, have a meal at my favorite, Papa's Pizza to Go, for great pizza, wings and much, much more baked fresh and served with a smile daily. Make sure you pick up a bag of Hardy Farms peanuts at the local road side stand. Green, Roasted or Boiled...Nothing says the South in the summer like Peanuts! Boiled are my favorite! Come on down and stay a while...Be sure to tell Innkeeper Adele that you read about her B&B here. I am back home in Georgia taking time for paperwork and the updating of a new poem to my website as promised. This one is entitled "What You Forgot". It give a little example of one of the many things that can be "forgotten" in a busy day and shares that perhaps chocolate and coffee can "melt" our troubles "away". Enjoy!
North Lodge on Oakland is one of Asheville, North Carolina's busiest B&B's. Although built in 1904, North Lodge on Oakland looks and feels like a new property. It has 6 well-appointed and very clean guest rooms for your resting pleasure. The Innkeeper serves a delicious three course breakfast. While I was there, some of my main dishes were...a Wild Berry Souffle, Pear Kuchen and Three Cheese Herb Quiche. Delicious! |
